About Us > Principals > David Bedingfeld

Location: Beijing

After obtaining degrees in Engineering and Agriculture, David began his irrigation and drainage career in the early 1970's in the United Kingdom. He was responsible for the design and supervision of overhead pivot and drainage systems for a number of countries throughout Europe and Africa.

The next 16 years took him to Swaziland, South Africa and Nigeria and Indonesia, where David worked for several well-known International Engineering firms and was involved in design and supervision of large projects including sugar, citrus, turf, golf and dust suppression.

A move to Brisbane, Australia did not prevent David from continuing his close connection with Asia - He travelled extensively to China and throughout SE Asia to provide technical and management support to local distributors and consultants on golf, turf and agricultural irrigation systems.

David is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Certified Irrigation Designer (Golf), Member of Institution of Agricultural Engineers, Member of Institution of Water and Environmental Management, and an Associate Fellow of Australian Institute of Management.

David joined HydroPlan in 2003 and moved to China to open the Beijing office. David's clients are benefitting from his huge experience and local knowledge in a rapidly maturing irrigation market.
