About Us > Company History

HydroPlan is owned and managed by its principal staff and operates throughout Australia and internationally. Its roots go back to 1979 and the birth of independent irrigation consulting. Since incorporation in 1985, HydroPlan has continued to grow and earn its reputation as leading independent consultants in the irrigation and water supply industry.

The company trades as one, and shares work and resources. Full time staff levels are consistently above 15 and turnover is consistently above $1m. Approximately 200 projects are undertaken each year with capital values varying from $5,000 to $5,000,000.

HydroPlan takes pride in its standing within the water industry. Many industry standards and methods have been adopted as a result of HydroPlan's innovations. Close contact is maintained with the 'trade', but HydroPlan's reputation is built on identifying and protecting the interests of the 'end-users'. Total independence from manufacturers, suppliers or contractors is a cornerstone of HydroPlan's philosophy.

HydroPlan's clients are owners, constructors and managers of water systems. Regular clients include councils, sport clubs, architects, developers, engineers, vineyards, orchards, farmers and government authorities.
